Ben Tre V1-3 Offshore Wind Farm officially generates the first Turbine and connects to the National grid

May 20, 2021 becomes one of the special milestones on Sigma's path to conquering renewable energy projects, when BTRE Investor and Sigma EPC Contractor at Ben Tre V1-3 Offshore Wind Farm have officially generated the first turbine, connected to the national grid.

In that joyful atmosphere, at the moment of 11:05 am - May 20, 2021, the representative of BTRE Investor pressed the button to start Turbine No. 4 and operated safely, meeting the technical requirements of EVN and Turbine manufacturer. In the deep blue sky, in the midst of the sun and sea breeze filling the shoulders of a Sigma soldier, the propellers are spreading their wings to catch the wind, turning the turbines to produce clean electricity for the country, making people's hearts flutter.

Talking to the reporter, Mr. Tran Dinh Thuong – Project Manager of the Ben Tre V1-3 Offshore Wind Farm said: "Overcoming many hardships and ups and downs, under the hands of Sigma workers, the factory ran by natural wind gave the first product. This is the first turbine with a capacity of 4.2MW in the plant's 7 Turbine system. Sigma EPC Contractor has determined to commit to the Investor to achieve the goal of generating this 7 Turbine power into the National grid in the middle of June, 2021.
The current works are continuing to be implemented at the project such as:
  • Underground cable work:
    • Completed the work of stripping and burying the 22kV underground cable with a length of 10km
    • Completed the connection of underground cable to the 22kV RMU cabinet in the control house area and connected the underground cable to 7 Turbines
    • Completed testing of 22kV underground cable
  • Turbine installation:
    • Completed installation of 5/7 Turbine
    • The remaining 2 turbines are expected to be completed in the near future (May 2021).
  • T&C work:
    • Completed T&C of 3/7 Turbines
    • Turn on power from the substation to 2/7 Turbines
    • Connecting and generating electricity to the national grid 1/7 Turbine
    • As planned, stable operation of all 7 turbines and COD is expected in June 2021
