Located in Vinh Hai Commune, Vinh Chau District, Soc Trang Province, Soc Trang 7 wind power plant - Phase 1 was built on a total research area of 3,100 ha with 7 wind turbines, rated capacity from 4.0/4.2 MW, over 96.5 m above the foundation. This is a large-scale wind power plant project in Soc Trang province, marking a strategic step of Sigma Engineering JSC in the field of renewable energy development.
Starting on September 25, 2020, after a year of rapid and drastic construction, on October 26, 2021, Soc Trang 7 Wind Power Plant was officially put into commercial operation (COD), according to the document No. 6330/EPTC-KDMD of the Electricity Trading Company (EVNEPTC) under the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).
Soc Trang 7 turbines are now standing in the middle of the sea and sky, the result of the persistent and enthusiastic efforts of Sigma's Board of Directors and staff. During the construction process, regulations on occupational safety are thoroughly communicated to all workers and technicians participating in the project. Teams of workers before entering the construction site are all trained in safety work and must have a safety engineer in charge during the implementation of the work with the motto: “Work is a priority, but safety is a must".
Mr. Ha Dung - Project Manager of Soc Trang 7 Wind Power Plant gave an interview
Mr. Ha Dung, Project Manager of Soc Trang 7 Wind Power Plant shared about the difficulties from the early days of project implementation: “The project was implemented right in the windy season in the West, when the contractors all refused to participate and bring the equipment to shore, Sigma, with experience and reputation, convinced the suppliers and offered a solution to use numerous equipment, working at the same time, taking advantage of every hour, every minute, every tide rises and falls for construction. We are fortunate to have a team of experienced field engineers, provide reasonable solutions, coordinate materials, equipment, and construction personnel to complete each location, each route. Besides, the owner's management team always accompanies, trusts, and stands side by side with the contractor's engineer, sticking to the barge, sticking to the sea day and night to conquer the challenges of the weather, and waves."
