Signed an insurance contract for Ben Tre V1.3 Offshore Wind Farm

On July 16, 2020, at the Headquarter of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam - Hanoi Branch (BIDV Hanoi Branch), BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) and Ben Tre Renewable Energy (BTRE) company held a signing ceremony of the insurance contract for Ben Tre V1.3 Offshore Wind Farm.
Under the contract signed between the two parties, BIC will ensure the installation of the Ben Tre V1.3 Offshore wind farm of BTRE. This is an offshore wind power plant project with a total investment of trillions Vietnam dong, total capacity up to 110 MW, located in Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province.
The project has a planned Phase 1 capacity of 30 MW. Phase 2 - 80 MW will be implemented after phase 1 is completed.

The leaders of BIC and BTRE signed an insurance contract for Ben Tre V1.3 Offshore wind farm
Ben Tre V1.3 Offshore Wind Farm is one of the projects in the plan to contribute to helping the Government of Vietnam achieve a wind power capacity of 2,000 MW by 2025 and is part of the campaign to transform the low carbon power in Vietnam.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, BIC General Director Tran Hoai An said: “Construction and installation insurance is one of the BIC's strong products. With a strong financial capacity, 15 years of experience in implementing products in the market, BIC is confident and committed to accompanying BTRE from construction and installation to the project going into operation with both conscientiousness and best service quality ”.
Mr. Le Huy Hoang, Director of BIDV Hanoi Branch, shared: “BIDV corporation in general and BIDV Hanoi Branch in particular, always devote attention and resources to best serve customers' activities. As for renewable energy, BIDV is the pioneer commercial bank in Vietnam providing loans to finance projects in this field. Therefore, BIDV Hanoi and BTRE have successfully connected, understood and signed a capital financing contract for the project. The fact that BIC's participation in insurance for the plant installation process will help the parties feel more secure and believe in the success of the project ”.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Duong Son Tung, Director of Ben Tre Renewable Energy JSC, highly appreciated BIC's professionalism and dedication in arranging insurance contracts for the project and affirmed: “With Professionalism and cooperation from BIDV, BIC, I believe that the wind power plant project V1-3 Ben Tre will be constructed safely and put into operation on schedule. Following the success of Phase 1, the project, as well as a good cooperation foundation between BIC, BIDV and BTRE, the V1-3 Ben Tre wind power plant phase 2 and phase 3, will soon be deployed ”.
