In early June, against the vast backdrop of Soc Trang's coastal waters, a significant milestone was achieved. On June 1, 2026, Sigma officially completed the foundation piling works for all 19 wind turbine foundations at the Soc Trang 7 Nearshore Wind Farm, marking the successful completion of a 68-day offshore construction campaign and ushering the project into its next phase of development.
Behind this achievement lies the tireless dedication of Sigma's engineers, supervisors, and workers. Since March 25, 2026, when the first pile was driven into the seabed, the project team has been engaged in a relentless race against time to deliver one of the most critical packages of the wind farm.
The project comprises 19 turbine foundations, each supported by 40 foundation piles, resulting in a total scope of 760 piles. As one of the most crucial foundation works of the entire wind farm, this package plays a decisive role in ensuring the stability and long-term performance of the future turbines. To meet the demanding schedule, Sigma mobilized six construction fleets consisting of barges, crawler cranes, and specialized equipment, supported by dozens of engineers and skilled workers. Each barge operated with approximately ten personnel working continuously amid challenging offshore conditions, maintaining a steady construction pace throughout the project.
There were mornings when work began as the first golden rays of sunlight spread across the sea. There were evenings when the sun had already disappeared beyond the horizon, yet the sound of machinery continued to echo over the water. Every pile driven into the seabed represented not only the strength of heavy equipment but also the dedication, resilience, and determination of the people committed to building a greener future. During peak periods, the project achieved an impressive productivity rate of up to seven piles per day, helping maintain progress in line with the planned schedule.

With 760 Foundation Piles Successfully Installed Offshore, Sigma Concludes a 68-Day Offshore Construction Campaign at the Soc Trang 7 Nearshore Wind Farm (Phase 2)
After 68 days of working at sea and on site, from the first pile installation on March 25, 2026, to the completion of the final pile on May 31, 2026, Sigma successfully delivered all 760 foundation piles for the 19 wind turbine foundations. This accomplishment has established the solid groundwork upon which the future turbines of Soc Trang 7 will rise above the sea.
If each wind turbine symbolizes the promise of green energy, then these foundation piles are the unseen roots that support that promise. The completion of the piling works not only marks the completion of the project's most critical foundation phase but also demonstrates Sigma's construction management capability, technical expertise, and determination to overcome the unique challenges of offshore construction.
The successful completion of all 760 foundation piles paves the way for the next stages of development, including pile cap construction, foundation structures, and turbine installation. Behind this achievement are thousands of working hours, countless days spent at sea, and a shared ambition to deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. More than just a construction milestone, it represents another important chapter in Sigma's journey toward building sustainable and environmentally responsible projects.
While this milestone is a source of pride, it is also the starting point for the challenges and opportunities ahead. With its pioneering spirit and commitment to excellence, Sigma will continue accelerating progress at the Soc Trang 7 Nearshore Wind Farm, bringing the project closer to commercial operation. In the years to come, the rotating blades of these turbines will not only generate clean electricity but will also contribute to Vietnam's vision of a greener, more sustainable future.
