Sigma continues to promote Safety throughout the projects

20/01/2018

For Sigma, safety is always at the forefront. This is certainly true for all Sigma projects that Sigma is acting as the Main M&E Contractor. Training and safety controls have been tightened up after Sigma was honored for achieving BSI OHSAS re-certification. This is also the “golden time” for the Sigma’s Board of Directors and the staff to better understand the importance of Safety and continue to apply OHSAS standard in all projects.

Not only the Safety Officers at the project, the deployment of safety training is widely transferred to all employees to know and understand the importance of promoting safety at the sites. For a Sigma with free-incident, the BODs, Safety Department and Site Managers are in close collaboration to avoid shifting responsibility and cover up the actions that cause harm to safety at the project.
All workers must be strictly checked for adequate personal protective equipment, name tags ... before starting a day at the site. In cases where workers are not equipped with protective equipment, they will be prompted and resolutely not allowed to work on the project.

Tool Box Meeting will take place immediately after the staff on site. This is a feature of Sigma when all employees will be discussing safety, quality and technical issues…before working hours between managers, engineers, safety officers, and all employees of the project. This will make the exchange of information easier, the workload is evenly distributed and the security issue becomes more transparent.

Tool Box Meeting takes place daily in all Sigma projects
In addition, before entering the site, staff will be trained and undergo a safety assessment. Individuals who don’t meet the criteria will be transferred to the site office for retraining. At the same time, when working at heights or in dangerous places, the safety alert will be posted as a sensible reminder but also imbued with sentimentality: "Never forget your family is waiting for you to return" .

It always has safety alerts when working at heights
It can be said that occupational health and safety are always the top priority not only of the investor or M&E contractor but also of the whole society. Besides the responsibilities of the Board of Directors, the Safety Department ... to ensure safety, health and environment as well as promote communication about the importance of safety work in staff, each individual need improving its sense of self-protection from hazards, keeping yourself safe means that it is safe for the whole project.
