Sigma Company Trip 2024 – Igniting Passion, Illuminating the Future

“Dong Hoi’s hospitality knows no bounds,

The gentle waves of Nhat Le embrace the green shore.

White sand stretches thin and pure,

The wind carries the scent of the sea, a boundless warmth.

Majestic mountains blend with the affection of the homeland.

The old city evokes memories,

Small boats leisurely drift homeward at dusk.

Simple country folk, undeterred by hardship.”

Leaving behind the daily hustle and bustle, the Sigma train officially set off, bringing Sigma’s people to the small and peaceful coastal city of Dong Hoi in Central Vietnam. After two years of waiting, the Sigma train finally docked at this ancient and poetic land known as Dong Hoi.

Each trip offers a new experience filled with excitement. This year’s trip was especially heartwarming, with nearly 1,000 members participating, showcasing the growing scale and strength of the company, much like a ship conquering the high seas...

The Sigma train officially set off

On August 8, 2024, Sunspa Resort and Celina Peninsula Resort warmly welcomed Sigma members amidst the golden sunshine, harmonized with the blue sky and emerald sea, creating a picturesque and romantic scene.

This year’s Sigma trip was deeply imbued with the spirit of "Igniting Passion, Illuminating the Future". This is not just a slogan but has become the essence of the trip, fostering enthusiasm, creativity, and the aspiration to reach new heights in each individual while driving the entire team towards a bright future.

As part of Sigma's non-annual football tournament system, beach soccer—a hallmark of each summer trip—was eagerly anticipated by Sigma players. This was an opportunity for the players to learn, compete, and socialize, bringing moments of relaxation after a very stressful work period. On the afternoon of August 8, as per Sigma's football tradition, the El Clasico match featured a fierce rivalry between Mechanical and Electrical teams.

The hot weather on the Sun Spa Resort beach added to the intensity of the El Clasico Mechanical - Electrical match. Both teams, boasting many of Sigma's football stars, made no secret of their ambition to win against their arch-rival. Although initially lagging in stamina, the goal of the Electrical team was constantly under threat from dangerous plays and missed opportunities by the Mechanical strikers. However, with a well-experienced lineup, the Electrical players remained calm, maintaining a solid defense and executing sharp counter-attacks. One such attack led to the opening goal for Electrical. Shocked awake by this, the Mechanical team increased their offensive pressure, aiming to equalize. The Electrical goal shook continuously under the pressure from their opponents. Their determination was rewarded with a 1-1 equalizer after a well-coordinated attack. Just as it seemed the score would stay tied until halftime, a lapse in the Mechanical defense allowed Electrical to score a surprise goal, ending the first half with a one-goal advantage.

In the second half, buoyed by their lead, Electrical started strong, scoring two consecutive goals with beautiful passing plays. With the gap widened to three goals, many thought the outcome was sealed. But the Mechanical players, embodying the never-give-up spirit of Sigma's men from across the country, showed fierce determination in the second half, scoring two goals to narrow the gap and bring the match to a thrilling conclusion. Despite their efforts to hold onto their lead, the Electrical players could finally breathe a sigh of relief, celebrating a hard-fought victory. This win allowed them to proudly assert: “We may lose to Mechanical in Hanoi, but in beach soccer, Mechanical has never beaten Electrical.”

Alongside this, the Teambuilding event was another enriching activity organized by the committee for all Sigma employees. On August 9, the Teambuilding program themed "Gathering Strength, Building the Future" took place with great enthusiasm, involving members from various projects across the country.

The program included exciting games like Horse Racing, Walking Together, The Thousand-Mile Shoes, Tangram Puzzle, Ultimate Challenge, Limit Challenge, and the Windy Raft Bridge, with many Sigma members participating, regardless of gender or age.

After participating, all members felt a "connection," as if bridging the gaps between themselves and other members. It was more than just a simple teambuilding activity; it also showcased intense focus, team spirit, and brought everyone closer together, successfully "crossing the finish line" together.

If the Teambuilding and beach soccer activities were vibrant, taking place on a beautiful sunny beach full of Sigma laughter, then the Live Concert program on the evening of August 9 brought warmth and emotion.

This year’s Live Concert saw the full attendance of the Board of Directors and their spouses, Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers, supervisors, office staff, and children.

Mr. Yatsu Takabumi, Chairman of Sigma Engineering JSC, delivered a meaningful and emotional speech, expressing sincere gratitude to all Sigma members for their hard work and dedication every day. He also extended thanks to each Sigma family for always supporting and assisting them in completing their tasks. The summer trip was like a gift of appreciation, helping everyone relieve daily stress and pressure, reconnecting with the sea’s call, and recharging their energy to be ready for the challenges ahead...

Right after the speech, the distinguished guests and all Sigma family members raised their glasses in celebration, accompanied by lively music.

This year’s Sigma entertainment program truly left a lasting impression with many remarkable performances, highlighted by the "Sigma’s Got Talent" show. These talent shows not only served as entertainment but also provided a platform for members to express their love and pride for the country and to strengthen family bonds.

The performances in Sigma’s Got Talent were meticulously choreographed and carefully prepared. Each act delivered a meaningful message, from patriotism and community cohesion to love and romance. Performances like "Vietnamese Pride" brought a heroic atmosphere, reminding us of the nation's glorious history. "The Great Circle of Vietnam" and "Around Vietnam" not only told the story of the country’s journey but also served as a love song and national pride. "Distant Island" was a tribute to the soldiers on the islands, those who are day and night protecting the country's sovereignty...

These performances were not just artistic displays but also a way for Sigma members to express their deep love and gratitude for the country while honoring cultural values, solidarity, and human compassion. Through each performance, the audience not only enjoyed the art but also felt the spirit and emotions that Sigma members wished to convey, resulting in an incredibly captivating show.

Though Sigma’s 2024 trip has ended, the memories of warm, joyful, and memorable moments will surely linger in the hearts of each member. Bidding farewell to the moments of fun and relaxation, the employees return to their daily work, continuing their passion and dedication, ready for the new projects awaiting them.
