Round 5 of the Sigma Spring Cup 2025 officially kicked off with a more vibrant and intense atmosphere than ever, as teams entered the second leg of the tournament. This is the decisive stage where every match and every point play a crucial role in the race for the championship. Right in the opening matches of the second leg, teams from the Electrical Group showcased their dominance with courageous victories, affirming their ambition and determination to climb the rankings.
Kicking off Round 5 were two early matches: E2 vs. M2 on Field 1 and E3 vs. M3 on Field 2. On Field 1, the familiar rivalry between E2 and M2 once again delivered an exciting and emotional score chase for the audience. E2 took the initiative and opened the scoring, but M2 managed to equalize at the end of the first half. In the second half, with a strong desire to win, E2 pushed forward and quickly regained the lead at 2-1. However, M2 proved they wouldn't go down easily, scoring a sharp counterattack goal to level the match at 2-2. With the Electrical Group teams in top form, E2 had no choice but to press higher in search of a win. At the decisive moment, midfield duo Tuấn Anh and Bá Minh shone with a beautiful combination play, sealing a dramatic 3-2 victory for E2.
M2 suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat to E2
On Field 2, the match between M3 and E3 was more cautious. The first half ended goalless. The second half continued in a tight, low-risk fashion, with few dangerous chances created even after more than half of the period had passed. Just as it seemed the game would end in a draw, veteran striker Kien Thanh of E3 delivered a stunning late brace, earning a full 3 points in emotional fashion for the team in sky blue. This victory gives E3 a strong boost heading into the crucial upcoming rounds.
E3 defeated M3 with a convincing 2-0 scoreline
In the second set of matches, immense pressure fell on E1 and M&S after fellow Electrical teams E2 and E3 had already secured wins and temporarily topped the standings. On Field 1, E1 faced a formidable challenge: Safety — the undefeated team from the Mechanical Group and the current leader of Group Mechanical. The must-win objective grew heavier when E1 conceded a goal in the first half. Despite creating numerous attacking threats, E1’s forwards couldn’t break through Safety’s solid defense. However, in the second half, Safety’s overconfidence and goal advantage backfired. E1 scored three consecutive goals in the middle of the second half, completing a spectacular comeback. The 3-1 win returned E1 to the top of the table, level on points with E3 but ahead on goal difference.
E1 overcame Safety with a 3-1 victory
On Field 2, M&S and M1 delivered an equally exciting match. With a lineup full of star players, M&S controlled the tempo and capitalized on a defensive error by M1 to take the lead at the end of the first half. The second half was a tense, back-and-forth affair, but neither side could add to the scoreline. The narrow but valuable win kept M&S closely trailing the top teams in the Electrical Group.
Thus, the first matches of Round 5’s second leg left a strong impression: all Electrical Group teams (E1, E2, E3, M&S) secured full marks. This undefeated run not only confirmed their collective strength and excellent competitive spirit but also set the stage for an extremely thrilling sprint to the Sigma Spring Cup 2025 crown.
