The spring of 2019 - Back in time to visit 14 kings of the Tran Dynasty

Approved by the Board of Directors, Executive Board of Sigma Engineering JSC held the first trip of the year for Sigma employees at the peace place of 14 Tran kings to pray for a new year full of luck and success for Sigma and partners on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 (January 20, 2019 Lunar Year) at Tran Temple, Day Pagoda, Nam Dinh.

Tran Temple is known to be a place of worship for 14 Tran kings, their families and mandarins. It is also famous for the opening ceremony of the spring and the Temple Association in August, attracting huge amount people and tourists to attend and appreciate the merits of the Tran kings and pray for good things.
The opening ceremony of Tran Temple, which usually takes place from 14th to 15th on January of Lunar Calendar, is a practice of the Tran dynasty - the longest and most powerful feudal dynasty in Vietnamese feudal history, with glorious victories three times defeated the Nguyen Mong army.
After defeating the Nguyen Mong army for the first time, at the Thien Truong palace (where the Tran dynasty was discovered), King Tran Thai Tong opened a reception and rewarding party, conferred on the mandarins, and the army had merit in fighting the enemy.
Since then, on this day, the Tran kings held the rite of initiation to sacrifice heaven and earth, ancestors; conceding to those with meritorious deeds, and opening a new working year for the Tran government apparatus.

 

Tran Temple, Nam Dinh 
 

Not far away is another famous place, named Day Pagoda, located in Kim Thai commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province, near National Route 10, 37B and 38B from Nam Dinh City to Ninh Binh.

Day Pagoda means "big Pagoda in Ke Day village".

In the 1557 reign of King Le Anh Tong, the village of Ke Day only took the name of An Thai commune, divided into four villages: Van Cat, Van Dinh, Van Cau, Nham Mieu. In 1861 (Tu Duc 12th) An Thai commune officially changed its name to Tien Huong commune.

The temple in Vân Cat is called Phu Chinh, built in 1899 (the second Thanh Thai). The temple complex in Tien Huong was built later. The architectural part is visible from 1913 (the seventh Duy Tan).


Day Pagoda Festival
Sigma's journey came to the kings’ land
Starting at 6.45 a.m, the convoy brought Sigma people to turn the wheel toward Tay Thien, an ancient land with majestic mountain waterfall located on the Tam Dao mountain, 75km west of Thang Long. The scenic spot of Tay Thien is located at the center of national landscapes, the Hung Temple of the Van Lang State, Hoa Lu of the Au Lac State, the Mount Ba Vi, the Bai Dinh, the Huong Pagoda, the Yen Tu Pagoda - the point of Buddhism. All create a strong feng shui based on sacred mountains, spread out the open plain and down the South, toward the sea.
Starting from 6:30 am, the convoy brought Sigma people to turn the wheel toward Tran Thua, Loc Vuong, Nam Dinh City. At 8.30 a.m, Sigma’s “ship” stopped at Pho Minh Temple which has dated back over 170 years, left our nation with great achievements in the fields of politics, knowledge, culture, economy, military, ...
The Tran and Pho Minh temples are both major religious and belief centers in the Red River Delta region, with many unique folklore festivals, meaning to remember and honor the Tran Dynasty. Here, Sigma people has visited and took the great photos.

After that, Sigma members visited and Day Pagoda festival in Kim Thai commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh. Sigma staff visited the temple of Princess Lieu Hanh, also known as the Holy Mother, one of the four "immortal" saints in Vietnamese folk. Here, the Sigma children have learned about the Mother worship and the profound influence of the Mau on the Vietnamese people.
 
The journey finally closed, but the curvature of the Temple roof, luxuriant sprouting flowers, light smoke diffuse spread, harmony in nature will remain in the hearts of Sigma people. At the end of the spring tour, Sigma is poised to embark on a 365-mile journey of the new year, with a spirit of enthusiasm and excitement.
