Amid the strong development momentum of Hai Phong City — which is steadily affirming its position as a major industrial, logistics, and innovation hub in Northern Vietnam — the dual challenge of urban planning and high-quality human resource development has become a long-term strategic priority.
With this vision, the Conference “Hai Phong: Shaping Urban Planning and Leading Future Human Resources,” organized by the in collaboration with the , brought together government leaders, industry experts, and domestic as well as international business communities.
The event was attended by Vu Tien Phung, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee; Nguyen Duc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong; Nguyen The Manh, Chairman of the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association; along with representatives from the , the , and numerous enterprises operating in construction, industry, and infrastructure development.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Tien Phung emphasized Hai Phong’s ambition to become a modern, green, and smart industrial city, in which high-quality human resource development is considered one of the key strategic breakthroughs determining the city’s competitiveness and sustainable growth in the future. He also reaffirmed the important role of the business community in contributing ideas and collaborating with local authorities on the city’s development planning toward 2050, with a vision to 2075.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen The Manh stated that the Association is gradually expanding its role from strengthening industry connections and promoting international cooperation to implementing human resource development programs and social responsibility initiatives. According to him, the integration of businesses, education, and technology will serve as a critical foundation for building a construction business community capable of international integration and adapting to future trends in smart urban development and green construction.
The conference’s in-depth discussion sessions focused on key topics including industrial infrastructure development, smart cities, construction technology transfer, and high-quality workforce training. In particular, the participation of Korean partners introduced innovative technological solutions, advanced management models, and international cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese construction enterprises.
Within the framework of the event, the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hai Phong Association for Promoting Education to implement educational support programs, encourage young talents, and foster future human resources for the construction industry. This initiative is regarded as a strategic step demonstrating the close connection between businesses, education, and sustainable social development.
