Round 4 was an internal battle between the brotherly teams from the two separate Mechanical and Electrical groups. With four matchups considered to be "full of camaraderie," behind them were calculated strategies regarding points from all eight clubs.
In the early matches, E1 faced E2 on Field 1, while M2 hosted Safety on Field 2. On Field 1, the match between the Electrical 1 and Electrical 2 brothers was an open and competitive affair right from the start. Both clubs knew each other too well, with many players having played together on the Sigma Electrical team. With such an open game, a goal-fest and a thrilling score chase ensued, much to the delight of the fans at Bang B Stadium. E2 opened the scoring and even led E1 twice in the first half. However, with their resilience, E1 managed to turn the tide. Twice being led, E1 equalized each time, and they went on to score four more goals, turning the match around to lead 4-2 against E2 by the end of the first half. In the remaining 30 minutes of the second half, both teams continued their attacking strategies, with goals coming one after another on Field 1. The match concluded with a well-deserved 7-3 victory for the E1 players.
A rain of goals from the brothers E1 - E2
On the neighboring field, despite facing a solid defensive wall from M2, Safety still found a way to score twice in the first half. In the second half, both teams tightened their play, and neither managed to convert opportunities into a third goal. The match ended 2-0 in favor of Safety—a result that wasn’t overwhelming but enough for them to steadily move toward the final match of SCL-2024.
In the second set of matches, M&S faced E3 on Field 1, while M1 clashed with M3 on Field 2. On Field 1, M&S went up against E3 in a match where many M&S players had the chance to face their former club, E3, where they had once played in previous seasons. With new reinforcements at the start of the tournament, it wasn’t difficult for M&S to take control and dominate the match over E3. While M&S had trailed in all three of their previous matches, this time, they were the first to score and took the lead. With this advantage, the M&S players felt relieved, freeing themselves from the pressure. Their attacks always carried danger, and one of them materialized into a beautiful goal by forward Van Diep from M&S, extending their lead. The 2-0 win at such a critical time propelled M&S into the top four of SCL 2024.
M&S takes first win at SCL2024
On Field 2, M1 entered the match determined to secure 3 points against M3, hoping to avoid falling further behind their opponent in the standings. With high determination, M1 launched an all-out attack from the very first minutes. However, M3 showed why they were one of the top teams on the leaderboard. In their first attacking play, M3 broke through M1’s defense, delivering an unexpected blow. The shock only increased the pressure on M1, and they struggled in both attack and defense. The M1 goalkeeper had to pick the ball out of the net four times in the first half alone. This surprising result left the spectators in awe. In the second half, after their coach boosted their morale, M1 played a better game against M3. However, with a four-goal lead, both teams played more openly, with fewer tactics, and four more goals were shared equally between them. The match ended 6-2 in favor of M3, showing an impressive performance by the M3 players, who weren’t highly rated before the tournament.
