Opening of the Sigma Spring Cup 2025: When Passion for Football Becomes a Symbol

More than just an annual sports tournament, SSC 2025 marks a historic milestone—the 20th anniversary of Sigma Engineering Joint Stock Company. Two decades of continuous growth have solidified Sigma’s position in Vietnam’s electromechanical industry. This year, SSC is not only a battleground for the best teams but also a symbol of unity, camaraderie, and sustainable development within the Sigma family.

The opening ceremony of Sigma Spring Cup 2025 took place at Bang B Football Field, often referred to as the "holy ground" of Sigma football. This event marked the beginning of an emotional season, where teams will strive for glory with unwavering determination.

The ceremony began with a spirited parade by the Mechanical and Electrical Clubs, blending traditional colors with a strong sporting spirit. Following this, Mr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Head of the SSC 2025 Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the special significance of this year’s tournament and officially introducing the participating teams.

SSC 2025 brings together eight of Sigma’s strongest teams, featuring top players from E1, E2, E3, Safety & M1, M2, M3, M&S. From the very first match, the competition was fierce as teams embarked on their battle for glory.

Right from the start, Safety, last season’s champion, showcased their dominance by pressing forward and scoring the opening goal within the first 10 minutes. However, E1 remained unfazed. Under the scorching sun, they adjusted their tactics, played resiliently, and secured a 1-1 equalizer, restoring balance to the match.

Safety brought a thrilling 2-1 victory for the red team

The tension escalated after a heated clash, as S capitalized on a foul to launch a lightning-fast counterattack. Despite E1’s strong defensive efforts, in the closing minutes of the second half, striker Lam Hoang Khoi took advantage of a defensive lapse to score the winning goal, sealing a thrilling 2-1 victory for the red team.

On Field 1, M2 and E2 delivered a gripping match. With veteran goalkeeper Bui Duc Tuan guarding the net, E2 fended off M2’s relentless attacks. The deadlock persisted until the final moments of the second half, when Mr. Ha (E2) capitalized on an opponent’s mistake to unleash a precise shot, breaking the tie. Fueled by the momentum, E2 scored two additional goals, securing a 4-2 victory, despite M2’s efforts to fight back.

The clash between MS and M1 on Field 2 was equally dramatic. M1 struck first, asserting their strong form. MS had a golden opportunity to equalize with a penalty kick, but unfortunately missed. However, MS refused to back down. Just 10 minutes later, Huy delivered a crucial goal, leveling the score.

Not stopping there, Cuong "Kem" ignited the crowd with a powerful strike, giving MS a 2-1 lead. The match saw an offensive explosion from MS, with Huy netting his second goal, bringing the score to 3-1 before halftime.

In the second half, despite M1’s efforts to narrow the gap to 4-2, their hopes were dashed when Mai Hoang Long sealed the game with a 5-2 victory, affirming MS’s dominance.

Historically, M3 had always held the upper hand over E3, but this season told a different story. E3 made key acquisitions, blending young talent with experienced veterans. The timely return of Kien Thanh provided a strong morale boost as he netted two goals in the first half.

In the second half, E3 maintained control with a solid defense. Midfielder Xuan Do delivered the final blow, securing a 3-0 victory, marking a commanding start for the team.
